A question that every woman has had to ask once or twice in their life (or in a month), “Do you have a tampon?” is probably being whispered somewhere near you as we speak. It is a question women have been asking each other month after month since middle school. But did you know that there are tampon alternatives to try during your period?
Three Tampon Alternatives to Try
Period panties are becoming more popular lately, a great alternative for women who dislike tampons and hate the bulkiness of their pad. This alternative option is a pair of underwear made an absorbent pad right inside. Once you are finished for the day, just throw them in the washing machine and you will be good to wear them again!
Not interested in wearing granny panties? We don’t blame you! Period panties can be purchased in athletic shapes and sexy designs.
The idea behind the menstrual cup is pretty simple; it collects the blood from your period and just needs to be removed every 10 to 12 hours. There are even smart cups available that alert you when they need to be emptied.
A menstrual sponge is placed inside your vagina and allowed to fill with your period blood. Once the sponge gets full, it will slide down your cervix and you can then pull it out. With proper care, they can cleaned and re-used for up to a year.
If you are just so done with tampons, we recommend giving at least one of these alternatives a go. What do you have to lose? Each of the above methods is safe to use, just be sure to follow proper care instructions for each of the alternatives listed.
